FNGLA Certified Landscape Technician
What is it?
FNGLA's Certified Landscape Technician (FCLT) program is designed to measure the skills of practicing landscape installation technicians. This program serves as a means to train employees, recognize their achievement and raise the standards of working professionals within Florida's landscape industry.
FCLT is offered as a stand-alone certification and marketed to the landscape industry as an employee training, recognition and advancement program. This hands-on approach to certification is designed for the true landscape installation technician.
FCLT is designed for employees of landscape contracting design/build and installation firms, as well as state, county & municipal governments, parks & recreation departments and land & home developers.
Those qualified to sit for the FCLT exam must have a minimum of 1 year experience in Florida's horticulture/landscape industry.
Training for the FCLT exam normally takes place prior to a scheduled exam near the test site. Training can also be offered in-house with a review conducted by the test site hosting the exam. Employers conducting in-house training for their staff are encouraged to utilize the FNGLA Landscape Certification Study Guide for Installation.
The FNGLA Landscape Certification Study Guide for Installation is a useful study guide for the FCLT exam. It provides information on the specifications and procedures used in completing the field exams for the FCLT exam. It is offered online at no cost upon request.
FCLT testing is offered in the spring and fall of each year.
Candidates must pass a comprehensive hands-on field exam to earn the FCLT designation.
Current test sites are:
