The 2013 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival promises to be another exceptional event and another exceptional opportunity for FNGLA to showcase the industry and Florida's gardening offerings to the expected attendance of over 2 million consumers. 2013 marks FNGLA's 15th year of participation as a festival partner.

As an official festival partner, FNGLA will serve as the host organization to the returning theme of Children's Gardening focused on family gardening fun. The garden area is themed Backyard Play. The display sets a “backyard look and feel” and will incorprate a variety of fun gardening elements easily recreated by virtually any home gardener such as a green roof dog house, a topiary pet yard, a soup garden, pizza garden, pie garden, a planted bamboo tunnel, a vine-covered playhouse, and a variety of garden crafts such as stepping stones, bird baths and the like. This garden will literally have something for the kid in each of us; from passionate gardener to even those with the most minimal of gardening interests, there's interesting textures, colors and take-home ideas for gardeners of all ages.

VOLUNTEER IN THE GARDEN!
FNGLA is seeking members and FNGLA certified professionals to serve as garden hosts and to assist park guests for the opening day and then each Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the festival: March 6 - May 19, 2013. Volunteers can pick from two different 3-hour shifts: noon - 3:00 p.m. or from 3:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.

MORE ABOUT FNGLA's GARDEN

FNGLA's 2013 "Backyard Play" will be located directly off "the loop" of the international showcase between Morocco and France - the same premier site of the last several years of gardens. With the 2013 garden, FNGLA hopes to showcase plants as part of a sustainable lifestyle, and not simply as ornamental elements of a home. An estimated 2.4 million guests are expected to visit Epcot during the festival which includes several holidays. The FNGLA garden area is always a heavily attended garden area within the festival. FNGLA is delighted to partner with the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival to spotlight plants as an everyday enjoyment, a family-centered activity and part of the solution for our sustainability effort.
